If I were the boss

If I were the boss…
If I were a boss I would be recognized a hard worker deserving to be a boss because to me, to be a boss means a lot; it’s not only a matter of being at the top management and earning more money but what you can deliver matters.

So, If I were a boss, I would make my work or business environment attractive for investments and I would take good care of my employees and of my shareholders because if I could take care of them, the rest will follow.

If I were a boss, I would see myself meeting higher personalities in hyper places for business purposes and I would provide a good income to my staff. I would also create an environment with strong diversity of people i.e. from different backgrounds as that would bring innovation and prosperity.

If I were a boss, obviously, I would earn a huge amount of money and I would support my church activities as I always see myself as an evangelist.

Finally, If I were a boss, I would make my wife the first woman of the city not comparing to the first lady to avoid political attacks and I would keep my wife away from my detractors as they could use her to achieve their mission.

  1. Being the boss is not always an easy task. It is not just about you and how you perceive your status and role or responsibilities in the organisation.

It also relates to how your subordinates or employees view you. Therefore, it would be important that you first understand what the expectations and pereceptions are that employess have. Thereafter you can implement all your plans, as it will be informed by what is expected and what is possible to deliver.

Ensuring diversity in the workplace could bring about "innovation and prosperity", but the test is how you manages that diversity to achieve a positive outcome for both the employees and the organisation.

Again recognising hard work and rewarding it is a good initiative, but favouritism should be gaurded against, as it could isolate your good employees from the rest of the staff, which could lead to conflict in the workplace.

Emotional Intelligence should always be part of your 'arsenal' when managing an organisation for success.

In conclusion, this might come across as being something a feminist would say, but I would say it anyway. Allow your wife to become her own being and be recognised as herself and not the partner or second command of the boss.
